The River House Wanaka provides the perfect riverside location to host the ultimate wedding or event. We can accommodate anything from a small number of guests to a large marquee wedding reception, an intimate cocktail party in the courtyard or a corporate lunch on the spacious lawns.

The property offers multiple ceremony options, including the scenic grounds which is perfect for a large outdoor event, while the indoor space caters for those wanting a more intimate setting. The huge lawn offers plenty of space for marquee’s, yurts, and bell tents. Utilise the outdoor entertaining area and patio with BBQ facilities, sprinkle the willow trees with fairy lights, bring in a band and dance the night away. Please note curfew for noise will apply accordingly – please enquire further detail.

Wedding Venue

The River House wedding package includes the use of the venue from 8 am on the first day of your booking to 3 pm on the last day of your booking and a 3-night stay for up to 10 people in privacy and comfort.  The bride can wake up on the wedding day with the marquee in the garden and have her hair and make-up done on the premises ($6,900 inc. GST). Accommodation can be provided for a longer duration at an extra cost.

Event Venue Hire

The fee for event day hire allows for access from midday the day before the event for setting up, the event day and then until midday the day after for clearing all décor and rubbish. We are happy to work with you to make your event successful. Please contact The River House Wanaka to discuss details further. Venue hire is priced accordingly depending on the requirements of hire, costs will be worked out once we have discussed individual requirements and tailored things to suit.

Caterers & Alcoholic Drinks

There are no restrictions on which caterers or wine suppliers you use. We do not charge any corkage fee either, meaning the savings that you make on wine alone are significant when compared to some other venues.
